SEW-Industrial Gear (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. Plant 5 Project Officially Commences

In early summer, the Tianjin region is brimming with vitality. On May 29, 2026, the groundbreaking ceremony for the SEW-Industrial Gear (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. Fifth Plant (F5 Plant) project was grandly held in the Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area (TEDA). Zhang Shengli, Executive Chairman of SEW China; Ma Jianjun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the TEDA Management Committee; Dai Min, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Sinomach Automobile Co., Ltd. and China Auto Industrial Engineering Co., Ltd. (AE); along with leaders from various levels of the TEDA Management Committee and representatives of partner organizations, attended this grand ceremony.

Strategic Cooperation and Project Details

Prior to the ceremony, SEW China and China Auto Industrial Engineering Co., Ltd. (AE) signed a "Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement" at the SEW China headquarters. As leading forces in their respective industries, the collaboration between SEW China and AE has long transcended traditional supply and demand relationships. Transitioning from early drive system supply to the current strategic alliance, this signing specifies four major collaborative directions: collaborative technical innovation, engineering construction linkage, joint market expansion, and brand value co-creation. A joint working group has been established, adhering to the combination of "specific project contract stipulations" and "framework agreement guidance" to ensure every cooperative effort yields concrete results. As the first landmark project of this strategic implementation, the groundbreaking of the SEW-Industrial Gear (Tianjin) Plant 5 project will inject strong momentum into the regional smart manufacturing industrial upgrade.

The SEW-Industrial Gear (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. Fifth Plant project is located in TEDA. It covers a total area of approximately 76,000 square meters, with a total building area exceeding 60,000 square meters and a total investment of over 2 billion RMB. It is another major project under SEW China's strategic investment plan of "re-embarking with tens of billions of momentum." The project will comprehensively adopt SEW's globally leading intelligent manufacturing technologies to build a benchmark factory in the field of heavy-duty industrial gear manufacturing, becoming a new milestone in SEW's development in the Chinese market. The F5 Plant will focus specifically on the production of large, heavy-duty gear units. In addition to meeting domestic market demand, it will primarily cater to customized product orders for the international market.

Zhang Shengli, Executive Chairman of SEW China, stated in his speech that the F5 project has been in planning since the second half of 2025, and all preparations were rapidly advanced and fully readied in 2026.
